Renew­able Mater­i­als Con­fer­ence 2025

The lead­ing event in the field of the renew­able car­bon eco­nomy, the ​‘Renew­able Mater­i­als Con­fer­ence 2025’, will take place from 22 to 24 Septem­ber 2025 in Siegburg near Bonn/​Cologne (Ger­many) and online.

In just a few years, the Renew­able Mater­i­als Con­fer­ence (RMC) has estab­lished itself as the inter­na­tion­al meet­ing place for innov­at­ors, com­pan­ies and brands, investors and poli­cy­makers to devel­op and shape the future renew­able car­bon eco­nomy. As in pre­vi­ous years, the con­fer­ence organ­iser nova-Insti­tute expects 400 – 500 par­ti­cipants from around the world. The extrac­tion of fossil resources from the ground and their use in the energy and chem­ic­al sec­tors is by far the largest con­trib­ut­or to human-made cli­mate change, account­ing for 90% of GHG emis­sions. While in the energy sec­tor decar­bon­isa­tion is the way for­ward, the only option for the chem­ic­als and plastics sec­tors is to change the car­bon source from fossil to renew­able car­bon: The use of bio­mass, CO₂ and recyc­ling is the only way forward.

RMC 2025 aims to provide answers to press­ing ques­tions for sup­pli­ers and brands, investors and poli­cy­makers: How to defos­sil­ise the chem­ic­al industry and remain com­pet­it­ive? How to meet the demand for fossil-free plastics? How to cre­ate sus­tain­able car­bon cycles? What role will bio­de­grad­a­tion play in the cir­cu­lar economy?

To answer these ques­tions, the con­fer­ence will present numer­ous talks with experts and provide excep­tion­al net­work­ing oppor­tun­it­ies, a table-top exhib­i­tion, poster ses­sions, as well as work­shops on most press­ing top­ics. In addi­tion, there will once again be the oppor­tun­ity to vote for the innov­a­tion award ​“Renew­able Mater­i­al of the Year 2025“ sponsored by Cov­estro (DE).
