Our His­tory

Foun­ded as the win­ner of the nation­al cluster com­pet­i­tion in 2008, we developed our cur­rent, broad port­fo­lio of activ­it­ies through diverse inter­me­di­ate steps. We put our efforts into the com­mis­sion of a sus­tain­able eco­nomy and advance our own busi­ness togeth­er with our partners.

  • 2022

    Our big inter­na­tion­al event ​“The Inter­na­tion­al Sus­tain­able Eco­nomy For­um” (ISEF) was held in June.

  • 2021

    We inter­na­tion­al­ize our efforts in the usage of CO2 by join­ing the ​“Renew­able Car­bon Ini­ti­at­ive”. In addi­tion, we became part of the EU-pro­ject BIO­MAC, which aims to estab­lish an Open Innov­a­tion Test Bed (OITB) eco­sys­tem that can increase the mar­ket read­i­ness and pro­duc­tion of nano­struc­tured biobased materials.

  • 2020

    The Bav­ari­an Min­istry of Eco­nom­ic Affairs appoints us as office of the new Cluster Indus­tri­al Bio­tech­no­logy which makes us an offi­cial mem­ber of the Bav­ari­an Cluster Initiative. 

  • 2019

    We moved! You now find us at Für­sten­rieder Straße 279a in Munich. 

  • 2016

    We estab­lish the recur­ring, inter­na­tion­al major event ​“Indus­tri­al Bio­tech­no­logy Forum”.

  • 2014

    We step into a new era of expert net­works with our firstly fun­ded ZIM-cooper­a­tion net­work ​“BioPlastik”. As of now, we cre­ate indi­vidu­al, oper­at­ive work­ing groups for spe­cial topics.

  • 2012

    After four suc­cess­ful years of growth and devel­op­ment, the BioM WB GmbH receives a new name: Indus­tri­elle Bio­tech­no­lo­gie Bay­ern Net­zwerk GmbH (IBB Net­zwerk GmbH). Its asso­ci­ation is also renamed into Förderver­ein Indus­tri­elle Bio­tech­no­lo­gie Bay­ern e.V.

  • 2009

    We rename the Net­zwerk IBP into BioM WB-Net­zwerk, to expand our activ­it­ies bey­ond the ini­tial IBP-concept onto the entire indus­tri­al biotechnology. 

  • 2008

    The ​“Ver­ein zur För­der­ung der Weißen Bio­tech­no­lo­gie in Bay­ern e.V.“ and ​„BioM WB GmbH“ are foun­ded as share­hold­er and man­age­ment organ­iz­a­tion of Net­work IBP in June 2008.

  • 2007

    Our ​“birth”: As one of five win­ners of the com­pet­i­tion ​“BioIn­dus­trie 2021”, we emerge as Net­work IBP. Prof. Zorbas, who was pro­ject dir­ect­or at BioM Biotech Cluster Devel­op­ment GmbH, has ini­ti­ated and coordin­ated the Net­zwerk IBP.
