Our History
Founded as the winner of the national cluster competition in 2008, we developed our current, broad portfolio of activities through diverse intermediate steps. We put our efforts into the commission of a sustainable economy and advance our own business together with our partners.

2022
Our big international event “The International Sustainable Economy Forum” (ISEF) was held in June.

2021
We internationalize our efforts in the usage of CO2 by joining the “Renewable Carbon Initiative”. In addition, we became part of the EU-project BIOMAC, which aims to establish an Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) ecosystem that can increase the market readiness and production of nanostructured biobased materials.

2020
The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs appoints us as office of the new Cluster Industrial Biotechnology which makes us an official member of the Bavarian Cluster Initiative.

2019
We moved! You now find us at Fürstenrieder Straße 279a in Munich.

2016
We establish the recurring, international major event “Industrial Biotechnology Forum”.

2014
We step into a new era of expert networks with our firstly funded ZIM-cooperation network “BioPlastik”. As of now, we create individual, operative working groups for special topics.

2012
After four successful years of growth and development, the BioM WB GmbH receives a new name: Industrielle Biotechnologie Bayern Netzwerk GmbH (IBB Netzwerk GmbH). Its association is also renamed into Förderverein Industrielle Biotechnologie Bayern e.V.

2009
We rename the Netzwerk IBP into BioM WB-Netzwerk, to expand our activities beyond the initial IBP-concept onto the entire industrial biotechnology.

2008
The “Verein zur Förderung der Weißen Biotechnologie in Bayern e.V.“ and „BioM WB GmbH“ are founded as shareholder and management organization of Network IBP in June 2008.

2007
Our “birth”: As one of five winners of the competition “BioIndustrie 2021”, we emerge as Network IBP. Prof. Zorbas, who was project director at BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH, has initiated and coordinated the Netzwerk IBP.
