Call for Fund­ing among Ger­many, Lat­in Amer­ica and the Caribbean

This fund­ing calls for research and innov­a­tion cooper­a­tion among Ger­many, Lat­in Amer­ica and the Carib­bean. It aims to estab­lish sus­tain­able and sol­id bilat­er­al part­ner struc­tures with the top research insti­tu­tions in Lat­in Amer­ica. The part­ner struc­ture includes Argen­tina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colom­bia, Cuba, Mex­ico, Peru or Uruguay.

The part­ner struc­tures to be estab­lished are inten­ded to expand col­lab­or­a­tion in the fol­low­ing research topics:

• Raw mater­i­als and cir­cu­lar economy
• biod­iversity
• Cli­mate pro­tec­tion / cli­mate adaptation

This fund­ing wel­comes small and medi­um-sized enter­prises (SMEs) and its asso­ci­ations in Ger­many and the afore­men­tioned part­ners. Unfor­tu­nately, fund­ing for SMEs is not possible.

Amount and dur­a­tion of the grant

The devel­op­ment phase can usu­ally be fun­ded for up to three years, and the sub­sequent con­sol­id­a­tion phase can usu­ally be fun­ded for up to two years.

Both in the devel­op­ment phase and in the con­sol­id­a­tion phase, pro­jects can be fin­anced by the BMBF with up to 150,000 euros per pro­ject per year (up to 750,000 euros for a term of five years. The grants are gran­ted in the form of a non- repay­able grant.
