btg bioliquids

btg bioliquids is a Dutch technology provider for the production of fast pyrolysis bio-oil (FPBO). They have designed and build three commercial plants to date, in the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden, with Partners Twence, GFN Lieksa/​Green Fuel Nordic and Preem/​Setra/​Pyrocell respectively. Their technology is based on the drying of biomass to a moisture content of <5%, mixing with hot sand in anoxic environment of a rotating cone reactor to produce biochar and pyrolysis vapours, the removal of solid sand and char particles and final vapour condensation to give FPBO.
