ENSYN

The Canadian company ENSYN has developed a rapid thermal processing technology based on circulating inert sand as catalyst for the production of bio-crude from woody biomass. Quenching and recovery of gases lead to production of light biocrude. The latter is used directly as a renewable fuel oil or, fed into refinery’s fluid catalytic cracker unit as a refinery feedstock, to produce renewable ​‘drop-in’ gasoline and diesel. ENSYN has entered several strategic partnerships, including with multinational conglomerate company Honeywell.
