SHV Energy

Multinational company with dutch roots SHV produces renewable dimethyl ether or rDME from renewable or waste (e.g. household waste) carbon feedstocks. rDME can be used in its pure form or blended with LPG and behaves similarly to the latter. SHV intends to increase supply rates by collaborating with technology providers KEW and LPG player UGI. Depending on the production process used, the carbon footprint of rDME is significantly reduced compared to its fossil counterpart or even negative. In the commercial process already applied today, rDME is produced from renewable methanol via catalytic synthesis.
