Eurofins Medi­ge­n­o­mix GmbH is an innov­at­ive bioana­lyt­ics com­pany spe­cial­iz­ing in DNA ana­lys­is, which emerged from the Gene Cen­ter of the Lud­wig Max­imili­an Uni­ver­sity of Munich. Since the spin-off from Medi­Gene AG in 1998, the already estab­lished busi­ness areas for DNA sequen­cing and gen­ome ana­lys­is have been com­ple­men­ted with vari­ous areas in applied genet­ics. Here, we suc­cess­fully offer the ana­lys­is of DNA pro­files and DNA vari­ants (poly­morph­isms) in mar­kets that are still young for DNA ana­lys­is, such as anim­al and plant breed­ing, forensics, the food industry and health care.

Eurofins Medi­ge­n­o­mix is the largest Ger­man private labor­at­ory to pro­duce DNA pro­files for the DNA ana­lys­is file of the Fed­er­al Crim­in­al Police Office and the lead­ing labor­at­ory for scrapie gen­o­typ­ing, QTL ana­lys­is and par­ent­age tra­cing for anim­al breed­ing in Germany.
