Phytow­elt Green­Tech­no­lo­gies GmbH is a young, innov­at­ive com­pany offer­ing con­tract research and pro­duc­tion in plant and indus­tri­al bio­tech­no­logy world­wide. Our tis­sue cul­ture and genet­ic engin­eer­ing know-how assists our cli­ents for the optim­iz­a­tion of plants as well as util­iz­a­tion of sec­ond­ary meta­bol­ites and enzymes for indus­tri­al use. Phytow­elt routinely applies key tech­no­lo­gies such as in vitro cul­tiv­a­tion of plants, cell fusion, trans­form­a­tion tech­no­lo­gies as well as plant ana­lys­is and molecu­lar mark­er assisted breed­ing. Our approach to link plant and indus­tri­al bio­tech­no­logy is max­im­iz­ing the syn­ergy from our plat­form tech­no­lo­gies phyto­di­versity and phytomin­ing to sup­port the aroma and phar­ma­ceut­ic­al industry and oth­er users of sec­ond­ary meta­bol­ites and enzymes of plants.
Phytow­elt Green­Tech­no­lo­gies was cre­ated in Janu­ary 2006 as a mer­ger of Phytow­elt GmbH and GreenTec GmbH (cre­ated in 1997), a spin-off com­pany from the Max-Planck-Insti­tute for Plant Breed­ing Research, Cologne.
