VITO — Flem­ish Insti­tute for Tech­no­lo­gic­al Research NV

As inde­pend­ent and cus­tom­er-ori­ented research organ­isa­tion, VITO provides innov­at­ive tech­no­lo­gic­al solu­tions as well as sci­en­tific­ally based advice and sup­port in order to stim­u­late sus­tain­able devel­op­ment and rein­force the eco­nom­ic and social fab­ric of Flanders. VITO provides Sus­tain­able Chem­istry as one of its five tech­no­logy plat­forms. In this plat­form we focus on the biobased eco­nomy and on pro­cess intens­i­fic­a­tion. A strong focus is giv­en to the integ­ra­tion of all kinds of con­ver­sion pro­cesses (chem­ic­al, enzymat­ic, micro­bi­al, elec­tro­chem­ic­al) with sep­ar­a­tion pro­cesses (focus on mem­brane tech­no­logy and development).
