Intention: We can find proteins anywhere in nature in abundance. This class of molecules has many different functions, for instance as catalysts, structure supporter, transporter, receptor, or regulator, or these molecules can be antibodies protecting us from diseases. Therefore, research and development activities on proteins are of utmost importance as they open unknown potentials. We can expect that the request for biobased and environmentally friendly products, e.g., proteins, will increase drastically as their potential is by far not yet exhausted. The ZIM-cooperation network “Advanced Proteins” (AdvaPro) is dedicated to these potentials and intends to develop advanced and more economic and ecological sustainable products based on proteins.
